Adam, a teenager heading in the wrong direction after a run-in with the law, is offered a surprising alternative to punishment by a judge: walk the 800-kilometre Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail to think about his future. Assigned to accompany him is Fred, a tough, outspoken former teacher grappling with her own chequered history. As the unlikely pair traverse the trail together, confronting exhaustion, inner turmoil and each other along the way, a bond gradually forms between them, and each discovers unsuspected inner strength, in a journey that offers both confrontation and the possibility of healing.
Review:
A life-affirming, beautifully shot drama carried by an excellent Alexandra Lamy and a striking newcomer performance from Julien Le Berre, its social conscience never undercutting its warmth.
