A struggling actor with an unshakable belief in his own destiny writes a boxing script that a major studio wants to buy, but refuses to sell it unless he is cast in the lead role. Turning down an offer of life-changing money, Sylvester Stallone instead works for a fraction of the price to get the film made with himself starring as Rocky Balboa, against the wishes of nearly everyone around him. The film would go on to become the biggest box office hit of 1976, earning ten Academy Award nominations and winning Best Picture, in this behind-the-scenes dramatisation of one of cinema's greatest underdog stories.
Review:
A sensational, deeply inspiring biopic that proves just as stirring as the original film itself, with Anthony Ippolito delivering a transformative, star-making performance as Stallone.
