Tony Evans, deputy head of a local primary school, and Emma Dretzin, a pianist, composer and single mother of two daughters, have never met until a chance encounter changes the course of both their lives: on the same morning, at the same hospital, they are each diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Told across five chapters, the film follows the pair as they fall into an unlikely, deepening relationship, sparked in part by Tony reluctantly joining Emma's suggestion of a Parkinson's ballet class, finding wit, love and resilience in the face of a diagnosis that reshapes everything they thought their futures would hold.
Review:
A warm, witty and unexpectedly moving anatomy of a shared diagnosis, its natural sense of humour never undercutting the emotional journey at its centre.
