Synopsis:
In November 2023, the board of OpenAI, the artificial intelligence company behind ChatGPT, abruptly fired its chief executive and co-founder Sam Altman. Over a few chaotic days, employees, investors and rival factions within the company fought over its leadership and future direction, until Altman returned to his post. The film dramatises the boardroom power struggle, portraying Altman alongside figures including Mira Murati, Ilya Sutskever, Greg Brockman, Geoffrey Hinton and Elon Musk.
Review:
Luca Guadagnino directs a satirical take on the recent history of the artificial-intelligence industry, from a screenplay by Simon Rich, with Andrew Garfield as Sam Altman.
