In a Japanese town in the Showa era, Aoko Aozaki, a spirited high-school student training in sorcery, and Alice Kuonji, a quiet and reclusive natural-born witch, guard a hidden world of magic. Their hidden world of magic is disrupted when Soujuro Shizuki, a naive young man newly arrived from the mountains, stumbles into their lives and learns their secret. As mysterious intruders breach the magical barrier protecting the town, the three are drawn into a battle that will test their bonds. An animated adaptation by the acclaimed studio ufotable, known for the Demon Slayer films, of Kinoko Nasu's 2012 visual novel, a prequel to his Tsukihime and part of the Type-Moon universe.
