In the first film the women of the village fought for a place at wedding rituals traditionally reserved for men; this time they stop being support staff and start calling the shots. With the celebrations under their control, a Punjabi wedding turns into a contest of pride and tradition, and the conflict is not hero against villain but family against family within the same household. Guru wants peace, but he also wants to win, while Ranu finds herself at the emotional heart of a feud played out across courtyards, ceremonies and family gatherings.

The first film, Godday Godday Chaa (2023), set in the 1980s and 1990s, won Best Punjabi Feature Film at the 71st National Film Awards.
