Billed as Back to the Beginning, the event at Aston Villa's stadium brought together the founders of heavy metal for one last performance, with Ozzy Osbourne, who was in poor health, performing seated on a throne. The line-up of guests included Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Tool, Alice in Chains, Gojira, Anthrax, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Halestorm and Rival Sons, with guest appearances by musicians including Steven Tyler, Billy Corgan, Ronnie Wood, Sammy Hagar, Travis Barker and Yungblud. Jason Momoa hosted the day, and Tom Morello was musical director. Alongside the performances, the film includes behind-the-scenes footage and reflections from the musicians influenced by Black Sabbath. Ozzy Osbourne died seventeen days after the concert, making the film his final bow. Directed by Ben Wainwright-Pearce, with the concert itself directed by Tim Van Someren, the film documents one of the most significant events in rock history: the farewell of the band widely credited with inventing heavy metal, and the last performance of Ozzy Osbourne. Presented in Dolby Atmos, it is an emotional record of the day, made all the more poignant by Ozzy's death shortly afterwards.
