Holmes, once celebrated as a visionary entrepreneur and the world's youngest self-made female billionaire, was convicted of fraud after the technology behind Theranos was exposed as unworkable. The documentary follows her in the days before her imprisonment and over the following years, as the film-makers grapple with how to portray a subject who is skilled at controlling her own image. Nathan Fielder, known for the television series Nathan for You and The Rehearsal, brings his distinctive interest in performance and authenticity to the project, making his feature directorial debut alongside Lance Oppenheim, director of Some Kind of Heaven. Nearly three hours long, the film becomes as much about the process of documenting the truth as about Holmes herself. Critics have called You Can See Everything a fascinating, knotty and troubling documentary, in which Holmes proves a slippery subject, and Fielder and Oppenheim's unconventional approach makes it a provocative study of truth, performance and image. Its length and ambiguity will divide audiences, but it is an unusual and thought-provoking film.
