Synopsis:
A young man falls in love with a clapped out 1958 Plymouth and restores it to its former glory, only to discover it is possessed by an evil spirit who will kill anyone who comes between itself and its ÒownerÓ
Review:
John Carpenter's adaptation of Stephen King's horror best-seller starts out well, with a well directed prologue sequence in which the devilish car reveals its true nature on the assembly line, but soon runs out of gas; there are a few scary moments, filmed with typical Carpenter aplomb, but the major problem is that the car's ÒpersonalityÓ never really comes through.
